About Chris Watson. Chris is acknowledged as the finest teacher of guitar in Peterborough. He is a world class player in his own right and has played and recorded for a diverse range of artists from various musical spheres including the SugaBabes, The Temptations, American cabaret artistes Vic Damone, Diane Carrol and Nancy Wilson, jazz giants Courtney Pine and John Dankworth and classical guitar virtuoso John Williams to name but a few. Chris has been asked to talk about his work on BBC radio 4 and is currently composing a boundary breaking Rock Symphony.
Student Comments: Former student Kalvin I first met Chris in 2004/2005. I did a regular group Friday lesson with him for about 3 years. I can honestly say that these were the best music lessons I’ve ever had. The Friday lessons were great because you learnt so much from being in a room full of other guitarists and if someone did an impressive solo you could always steal a few licks. They were very enjoyable because it was often centred on learning bits of great classics or jamming along to a few modern tunes and there was always diversity. On a personal level the lessons helped me develop as a musician because Chris taught me a diverse range of styles and I learnt to appreciate music in a variety of forms. He was always relaxed and it was always at your own pace allowing a relaxed learning environment. This helped me to decide that I wanted to take music further and now I currently take a performing musicians course at the Music Base in Manchester. For the future I hope to be able to enrol myself at the Royal Northern College of Music.
