Training School

Jack Hunt School became a Department for Education and Skills designated Training School working in partnership with Deacon's School, Peterborough, in September 2000.  We have continued from this time to develop our role working with various providers and partners in leading on initial teacher education and continued professional development.

The school has a long history of working with trainee teachers from its principal Higher Education partner, the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education (PGCE) and also the Cambridge Partnership GTP programme. Other Higher Education partners include The University of Bedfordshire and The Open University.

The school participates in the TDA Open Schools Programme which is designed to give those who are thinking of becoming a teacher the opportunity to gain some school experience.  To gain information about this please visit the TDA (Training Development Agency) website at www.tda.gov.uk
