Year 9 Options
This is the start of a very important stage in your son or daughter’s education. At the end of Year 9, students are able to choose which subjects they wish to continue with and gain qualifications in.
We firmly believe in offering a ‘Personalised Curriculum’ whereby students can select the subjects in which they are strongest and most interested. This, we hope, will maximise their potential by increasing levels of motivation and achievement.
There will be a Year 9 Parents Option Information Evening during which the whole options process will be explained; all subjects available to year 10 students will be outlined and the ‘new’ qualifications explained.
Option booklets will be given out so that parents and students can discuss together the choices available.
After the presentation by Mr Gilligan there will be plenty of opportunities for questions with Mr Gilligan and other senior members of staff.
Completed Option Forms must be returned to your child’s Form Tutor by Monday 1 March 2010 (a copy of which is to be found at the back of the booklet below).
