Curie House Background
Curie House is named after Marie Curie, a physicist and chemist. She was a pioneer in the field of radioactivity and was the first person honoured with two Nobel Prizes, receiving one in physics and later, one in chemistry. She was the first woman to serve as professor at the University of Paris.
Welcome to the Curie House page
My name is Debbie Fawcett and I am Head of Curie House. I have been teaching for 15 years and have worked in a variety of schools in Yorkshire, Derbyshire and for a short time in Namibia.
I have worked at Jack Hunt since September 2008 where I teach Sociology, RE and PDE. The subjects I teach reflect my interest in how people live their lives in different circumstances and different cultures and whenever possible I spend my holidays travelling so that I can experience some of these cultures first hand.
