Y10 Curriculum Information evening - Thursday 5 October 6.30-8.00pm

Our Year 10 Curriculum Evening, Dreams & Aspirations Part 2, will take place on Thursday 5 October for students and their parents and carers.

Now that Year 10 students have settled onto their courses, we will be hosting our Information Evening, ‘Dreams and Aspirations Part 2’.  This is an opportunity for parents and students to hear about the core subjects of English, Maths and Science along with the English Baccalaureate subjects students may have chosen. There will be presentations for all students and parents in the hall by the Curriculum Area Leaders for English, Maths and Science followed by a rolling programme of 10 minute presentations by Curriculum Area Leaders for Geography, History and Modern Foreign Languages for students who study these subjects.

Each presentation will outline the following:

  • A course overview
  • Formal assessment – dates, content, preparation, new grades etc
  • Revision and Preparation for Exams – mock exams, mock results day, other assessments, tracking progress, intervention, organised revision tips and activities
  • Learning Resources and online homework/revision resources
  • How to parents/carers can support learning

Research shows that students whose parents take active role in their learning outperform those where this is not the case and we would therefore recommend that you are able to attend.  To confirm attendance parents should email the name of the student and number of parents or carers attending to mjohnson@jackhunt.net.

Curriculum Information sheets will be provided for all parents/carers by the curriculum areas summarising the key bullet points above for each subject.  Contact details will be provided should parents/carers require any further clarification or have any questions.

Presentations and information sheets will be made available to parents after the event on the Kite Learning Platform and Jack Hunt website.
