Four of our students in Years 12 and 13 then went on to participate in the Regional Senior Team Maths Challenge, organised by United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) and Further Mathematics Support Programme (FMSP).
This competition was held at Arthur Mellows Village College in Glinton, with the possibility of qualifying for the National Final of the UK Senior Team Maths Challenge. They competed against 18 other schools from across the region, venturing as far as from Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire. The Jack Hunt team was comprised of Stephen Miller and Wilson Wang of year 13, Krystal Hung and Santosh Thapa from year 12.
The team finished respectably in the top half of the schools, supervisors commenting on how well they worked as a team.
Approximately 7,000 of the top students are invited to sit one of the follow-on competitions, BM01 or the Senior Kangaroo.
Wilson Wang then went to achieve a certificate of merit in the Senior Kangaroo.
Congratulations to the Jack Hunt Team, and Wilson Wang.
