Winterfest 2015

Students and staff will be enjoying a school Winterfest throughout December - with a range of activities, events and presentations of work from both Curriculum Areas and extra-curricular programmes.

The programme starts with tutor groups designing and filling hampers for local charities as part of the annual inter-house Charity Hamper Competition.  These are to be completed by Monday 14 December ready for judging.  The winning tutor group will then deliver the hampers to local charities including the Salvation Army, Age UK, Peterborough Soup Kitchen, Peterborough Foyer and the New Haven Shelter.

House Celebration Assemblies during tutor time will take place throughout the month - recognising and celebrating student achievements with awards for 100% attendance, Sports Leadership and much more.

The annual Christmas Concert will get everyone in the festive spirit when it takes place on Wednesday 9 December celebrating student talent with seaonal songs and music, performed by our very talented music students including Senior and Concert choirs, school bands and quartets as well as soloists.  There will also be performances from a number of Cluster Primary school students.

Other events planned for the month include the annual Senior Citizens Christmas Party on Monday 14 December, organised by our School Council students.  Invited guests will enjoy plenty of food, entertainment provided by the students and a visit from Santa.  On the same day our Senior Choir will be performing in John Lewis entertaining shoppers during lunchtime.

The term will end with our annual Presentation Evening celebrating and showcasing the amazing achievements of our GCSE and A Level students, both academically and vocationally, with special guest adventurer and athlete, Sarah Outen presenting the awards.  The last day of term will see students wearing festive jumpers and headgear to raise money for Save the Children and the NSPCC on our 'Christmas Jumper and Bobble Hat Day'.
