Year 6 Girls Shine at Jack Hunt Football Festival and Transition Day

Girls' Football Festival Inspires Confidence and Camaraderie Amongst Year 6 Visitors

We were delighted to host an inspiring Girls' Football Transition Event on our school campus yesterday, welcoming 110 enthusiastic Year 6 students from our feeder primary schools. This dynamic day served as an invaluable introduction to life at secondary school, aiming to build confidence, encourage new friendships, and foster a sense of belonging amongst our future students.

The morning commenced with an engaging orienteering challenge, to familiarise our young visitors with the school environment. The activity was led by our exceptional Year 7 girls, whose leadership, encouragement, and enthusiasm played a pivotal role in making the newcomers feel supported and included.

Following the morning's adventures, students enjoyed a sociable lunch in the dining hall, an opportunity to relax, laugh, and connect with peers in a welcoming and informal setting.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the vibrant Girls' Football Festival, held on our all-weather pitch. The atmosphere was electric, filled with energy, team spirit, and joy. The event celebrated not only physical activity and sportsmanship, but also the empowerment of young girls through participation, cooperation, and collective enthusiasm.

It was genuinely uplifting to witness the energy, positivity, and eagerness of our prospective students as they embraced each activity with open minds and open hearts. Events like this are instrumental in laying the foundations for a smooth and confident transition to secondary education.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the staff and student volunteers who contributed to the event’s success—your dedication and positivity made a lasting impression on our visitors. A particularly special thank you must go to Mrs Jeal, whose meticulous planning, coordination, and passion for inclusive sport were instrumental in bringing this day to life.

We look forward to welcoming these brilliant young students back in September as they officially join the Jack Hunt community.
