Students Impress at Regional Bar Mock Trial Competition

Students from Jack Hunt Academy recently took part in the Regional Bar Mock Trial Competition held in Ashfield, near Mansfield, where they represented the school with pride, professionalism and determination.

The Mock Trial Competition gives students the opportunity to experience the legal system first-hand by taking on roles including barristers, witnesses, court staff and jurors. Throughout the event, students demonstrated excellent legal knowledge, strong public speaking skills and impressive teamwork.

The team faced tough competition throughout the day. Although they narrowly lost their first two cases in closely fought trials, they showed great resilience and determination. Their hard work paid off in the final round where they secured an excellent Not Guilty verdict against the host school, finishing the competition on a high.

While the team did not progress to the National Finals, the experience proved incredibly valuable. Students developed not only their understanding of law but also key personal skills such as confidence, communication, critical thinking and the ability to perform under pressure.

The school would like to extend a huge thank you to Mrs Charlotte Etherton for her outstanding work in preparing the students and organising the trip. Her support and guidance ensured the students were fully prepared and able to perform at their very best.

Jack Hunt Academy is extremely proud of all students involved and looks forward to participating in the competition again next year.
