CITIZENSHIP
Our vision is to motivate young people to become thoughtful, active citizens. We aim for our students to gain a deeper knowledge of democracy, government and law, and develop skills to create sustained and reasoned arguments, present various viewpoints and plan practical citizenship actions to benefit society.
By the time they leave us, they will also gain the ability to recognise bias, critically evaluate arguments, weigh evidence and look for alternative interpretations and sources of evidence, all in the context of four themes: life in modern Britain, rights and responsibilities, politics and participation and active citizenship. We cover the full the AQA Citizenship Studies specification at GCSE, updated continuously to address content and apply skills in relation to current local, national and international issues.
