Tables Turned: A Term of Sporting Success

Celebrating Table Sports at Jack Hunt
We’re thrilled to share two exciting sporting highlights from this term, showcasing both student success and new opportunities to get active on site!
Firstly, a huge congratulations to our fantastic Year 7 and 8 students who recently represented the school at the Regional Table Cricket Finals. Competing against schools from across the East of England, our team put in an outstanding performance and proudly secured 3rd place! Their teamwork, focus, and sportsmanship were exceptional throughout the tournament.
We'd also like to give a special mention to our dedicated Sports Leaders, who supported the event by officiating matches. They demonstrated great professionalism and leadership – a real credit to the school.
In more table-based sports news, we’re excited to announce the arrival of our brand-new table tennis tables! Already proving to be a hit during breaks and lunchtimes, these high-quality tables are giving students more ways to stay active, build skills, and enjoy friendly competition.
We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Living Sport and Sport England for their support in funding this equipment. Their backing helped us to successfully apply for funding, and we’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to expand our inclusive sports provision.
As well as these achievements within the school, student Zihan Lin showed unstoppable fighting spirit at the England U13-U10 National Championship, and delivered a stellar performance at the European Youth Series in Bosnia over the Easter Holidays — he gave it his all and made us proud! Double bronze in U13 events and undefeated representing Team England.
It’s been a great term for table sports at Jack Hunt — and we’re only just getting started!
