A Warm Welcome at Our Year 6 Prospective Parents’ Evening
Year 6 Prospective Parents’ Evening – A Wonderful Showcase of Jack Hunt Academy
What a fantastic evening we had at our Year 6 Prospective Parents’ Evening! The event gave families an inspiring and engaging insight into life at Jack Hunt Academy, with every corner of the school buzzing with energy, curiosity, and creativity.
The evening began with teacher talks, which provided parents and carers with valuable information about our ethos, curriculum, and the many opportunities available to students. For those who were unable to attend, we are pleased to share that you can still book a Headteacher’s tour via our website; an excellent chance to ask questions and find out more about what makes Jack Hunt such a vibrant learning community.

A huge thank you must go to our student helpers, who played a central role in the evening’s success. From guiding families around the school to supporting staff in departments, they embodied the values of Jack Hunt with their warmth, responsibility, and enthusiasm. Many parents commented on how impressive and confident our students were, and a true credit to our school.
The departmental displays and activities were a particular highlight of the evening:
-
The Science Department delighted visitors with their Bugs themed displays, offering interactive experiments and plenty of hands-on fun.
-
In the Art Department, families enjoyed clay modelling workshops, giving them the chance to get creative and take part in the process themselves.
-
The Design Technology team wowed audiences with demonstrations, including the always popular cake decorating.
-
Our Drama Department earned special praise for their innovative “Stage in a Box” exhibit, which demonstrated how lighting, sound, and stage design bring performances to life, even with miniature models.
-
Across the school, other subjects presented a rich mix of displays, resources, and demonstrations, highlighting the breadth and excellence of our curriculum.
The evening truly reflected the spirit of Jack Hunt Academy, a school where learning is exciting, opportunities are endless, and every student is encouraged to thrive.
We would like to thank all staff, students, and families who contributed to making the event such a success. We are already looking forward to welcoming next year’s prospective families and sharing even more of what make JHA so special.
