Award-winning children’s author visits Jack Hunt School

Author Guy Bass visits Jack Hunt!

On Friday 1st July a number of Key Stage 3 students were visited by Blue-Peter Award-winning children’s author Guy Bass. During his visit Guy told some very funny stories about his childhood and how his vivid imagination led to him becoming an author.

Together with his childhood aspirations and inspirations, he also discussed writing tips, shared some of his poetry and read some very animated and hilarious readings from his books.

Guy has been entertaining and inspiring children in schools, libraries and book festivals since 2008. His energetic, interactive performances are designed to generate excitement about books, build confidence in reading and writing, and spread a lot of laughter.

All students that joined the event had read at least one of Guy’s books before meeting him and had come armed with lots of questions for an interactive question and answer session at the end.

Commenting on event one student said ‘The time went too quickly, Guy Bass was so funny, I’m definitely going to be reading more of his books’.

Organiser Ms S Tuck said 'Guy's visit today energized the students to expand and explore their own creative writing skills, and we are looking forward to seeing the impact of the Guy’s visit through the students work
