Jack Hunt Students bring Christmas Cheer to the Local Community

The Jack Hunt Senior Choir spent a festive friday lunchtime entertaining Christmas shoppers in John Lewis.  They got the customers in the mood for Christmas with a selection of songs and carols including ‘White Christmas’ ‘Jingle Bell Rock’, ‘Silent Night’ and ‘The Christmas Song’ to name but a few.  Carol O’Donovan, PR & Marketing Coordinator for John Lewis wrote “My thanks to you and the girls for a super performance on Friday. Our Partners enjoyed it and as you know we had some really lovely comments from customers. I do hope you will be able to visit us again next year.”  The store very kindly gave each girl a gift as a thank you for providing such excellent entertainment.

This was followed on Monday 15 December with senior members of the local community coming together at the annual Christmas Party given by students and staff.  The guests included members of three local resident groups and relatives of students and staff.  They were entertained by singing groups including the school choir, guitar and flute performances as well as enjoying a dance performance and a Michael Jackson act.

Guests enjoyed plenty of food that had been prepared by the students plus tea, coffee and crackers.  They also took part in a quiz  and each received a present from Santa.

One guest said that ‘this is my second year and I was so looking forward to it.  I have had a great time.’  Another guest said that we must be so proud of all the students.

Megan Greenwood (Year 10) who led a sing-a-long of Christmas Carols commented “it was so good to see all the guests enjoying themselves.” Fellow Year 10 student, Megan Greer said that she enjoyed talking to all the guests and was so pleased they were having a great time.
